Imagine.  Close your eyes for just a moment and imagine the perfect preschool environment you would like to see your child in.  You might visualize respect, safety, values, unity between home and school, unlimited learning opportunities, socialization in a kind and gentle manner, just to name a few.  This is exactly what I have observed for the last two weeks at Hope Montessori while helping my son feel comfortable in his new environment.  I observed more than 10 preschools before I found this perfect learning environment for both my son and family.  While sitting in at Hope Montessori I knew I didn’t need to imagine anymore.

The children are important and loved so much.  They are each respected as a person and guided by teachers who don’t stand in the way of the child’s natural ability to learn.  I’ve observed the teachers talking to all of our children with such soft comforting voices and always giving a word of encouragement.  All the children have a respect for each other because of the tremendous respect they receive.

Pure enjoyment is seen in each child’s face.  They are like busy bees going from flower to flower gathering all the information needed to become who they are naturally meant to be.  Some started out fast and not focused going quickly from activity to activity.  Two weeks later they were amazingly focused gathering more information from each activity at a much more slow, concentrated pace.  There is meaning and purpose to their movements.

In my observations, I have seen children observe each other/teachers and participate in what they observed.  In the first week I saw children tumble and by the second week achieve a sense of accomplishment, an “I know how to do this!”  They then performed the activity over and over again demonstrating the new acquired skill.  This process goes on everyday with all of our children.  I believe Hope Montessori assists our children in realizing their full potential in life.  In a world that needs individual intelligence, energy, creativity and cooperation more than ever, our children are in the right place.

I would like to thank all of the wonderful, hard-working teachers at Hope Montessori. All of you bring a unity between home and school.
